Mozaik Team of STEI ITB Won the 2012 LSI Design Contest in Japan

LSI Design Contest is an annual competition held by the University of the Ryukyus, Okinawa, Japan and sponsored by Sony LSI Design. This competition aims to increase the interest of undergraduate and graduate students in the field of IC design. LSI is a term widely used in Japan for IC or chip (IC or VLSI in the US). Similiar to the previous years which took themes of IC design for communications, this year’s theme focused on the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT).

Three Electrical Engineering students, Bontor Humala, Gest Elhasya, and Imran Abdurrahman, through Mozaik Team represented ITB and Indonesia to fight in this contest. With the supervision of Trio Adiono, PhD, their effort and hard work resulted in a great success. They got 2nd winner for the “Best FPGA Implementation Award” in the official ceremony on March 16, 2012. This success again adds the long list of achievements attained by STEI ITB students and proves the existence of ITB students capability in worldwide level. It hopefully will inspire more students to achieve their dreams.
